PC Hills, aged 36, who was a uniform patrol officer based at Weetwood Police Station, in Leeds was
seriously injured in a road traffic collision, in Bayton Lane, Yeadon. He was taken to hospital but
his injuries proved fatal.
PC Hills joined West Yorkshire Police in June 2003. He lived in the Leeds area with his partner and
two children - a son, aged seven, and a daughter, aged two.
Divisional Commander, Chief Superintendent Howard Crowther said: "Conal was out in the early
hours of the morning doing his duty as a police officer responding to a call from a member of the
public, and unfortunately there has been a tragic accident. I knew him as someone who had a really
pleasant nature to him and was a well-liked officer who really enjoyed working in this area. His
death is a tragedy not only for his family but also for his colleagues in the Division and the Force
as a whole. Our thoughts are with his family at this time. Conal was one of life’s good guys.?

Conal left this world peacefully November 19, 2006, sadly gone and loved eternally by Ruth, Tom and
Ella, cherished son to Ann and David and a much loved and devoted brother to Nicola, Damon, Gethin
and Naomi, his Friends and Collegues will miss him dearly. Conal will be loved and missed by all
forever.
The funeral service took place at St. Chad's Church, Otley Road, Far Headingley, Leeds 6, on
Wednesday, November 29,
We can not express enough our gratitude to the Leeds General Infirmary and West Yorkshire Police,
for all their care and support.

Hi Bruv
Its 3 years today since I was told that you had died. I was having a bath not really thinking about anything, neither here nor there and dad knocked on the bathroom door and told me you had passed away.
Perhaps I am incredibly fortunate because whenever I think of you I don't feel sad. In fact whenever I think of you I only remember scenes of happiness and there were plenty. I have some wonderful memories of when you came down to Cornwall and gave us all (particularly me & Naomi) a neverending summer of activity and fun and games. They were the best summers for me and I remember them with only happiness and a smile that cannot be taken away by sadness, ever.
Your joy in spending time with us playing was genuine. I like to think you were enjoying yourself just as much as we were and I'm sure you were.
They really were the best summers, thanks Conal.
And I am also grateful for the last time that I saw you when you came round the flat with Tom & Ella and spent the day playing, eating & drinking, watching DVDs and generally spending a jolly time that whole day with dad and me.
If I hadn't had that last relaxing day of fun spent with you that I remember so clearly then I think I would be upset.
Life stepped in and provided that day though and I am forever grateful for it.
I am grateful for all the memories. Those of childhood and those of our times spent in Leeds together.
Knowing you has made me a richer and better person and stronger in life.
Thanks forever Conal x
Dearest Conal,

conal hills
Dearest Conal, sorry this message is a bit late, been having trouble with internet access, but you were very much in our thoughts on your birthday. Nicola and I went to the top of a hill and sent a happy birthday balloon to you which disappeared over the mountains, I like to believe that you were there with us. Never a day goes by that we don't think about you, it is difficult not to feel sad, but try to remember the happy times we had. with love mum xx
Happy birthday to Ella
I let Ella know that you send your love from heaven and that you are watching over her especially today. Watching her opening her presents and smiling at her excitement. But you know what the best present she could have is ... so does Tom ... and so do I. We all miss you so very much xxx
Our boys in blue
Dearest Ruth. I've only just discovered this site and my darling Fiance, PC Ian David Walker, has been given a page. Your message was lovely. Losing the love of your life is a pain beyond measure. I know you, of all people, will understand the deep despair I feel. I miss him so much. I send love to you and your family and friends. What would we do without them! Whilst I grieve for my Angel up in heaven, I give thanks for my Angels here on earth. x
dearest conal
Another Christmas without you, but you were with us all in our hearts and thoughts. The children had a lovely time, lots of presents as usual, which you would have enjoyed. All my love Mum xxx
We cannot bring the old times back when we were once togeather. The chain is broken now.
But your memory lives forever!
I looked out of the window at work today eating fish and chips (ok I had chips a veggie does not have fish, I never have done)....But as I looked out with the chips and scraps I thought of you. I got them from the same shop we always have in Yeadon. The one you love. I told myself to never buy from there again when you left us. Now I buy from there and enjoy it in your memory. Today however, I ate them and looked at the tree planted for you. As I was doing so I thought....It does not take a special day for me to think of you. Each prayer I hear, each prayer I say is offered up to you.
Always thinking of you mate x
